WINDWARD DIVING

We will always find a solution for diving!

Even in Paradise, we have weather events that keep us from diving, and like almost any dive location, weather-related port closures during the Norte Season (November to February) are common.

We value your Vacation time and budget so we work very hard to find solutions to keep you diving when we can.

During the Norte season, we usually have 2 types of Nortes, unpredictable Nortes and anticipated Nortes. In order to dive the Eastside, we must move our entire operation to the east side which is a huge logistical effort, our boats and our captains need to be stationed there overnight.

For this, we take a calculated risk and plan east side trips when we can anticipate the Norte and when the angle of the wind direction from the north is in our favor for good diving conditions. We usually do not run east side trips during the winter months as this is high season and moving our boats to the other side diminishes our capacity to fulfill our regular dive trips.

During the months from May to September, there are more diveable days to visit the east side on our Aldora Adventures trip and to plan east side diving as the wind during these months is more favorable for diving there.

When the weather and conditions allow, dive sites like the cannons and anchors of the Spanish Galleon shipwreck, forests of elkhorn coral, and many other things, make this diving quite different from Cozumel’s marine park.

The Canons of the Spanish Galleon Shipwreck

When we visit the east side of Cozumel the must see dive site is the site of the Spanish Galleon shipwreck where it's cannons and anchor

can still be seen.

After this you can see the incredible healthy colonies of Elk Horn coral and 'canyons'.

A truly enjoyable dive, not to be missed!
